Celiac Disease is an autoimmune condition that is inherited.  The disease effects your small intestine.   Celiac Disease causes the protein Gluten (flour, wheat, rye and barley) to damage the small intestine and does not allow the nutrients from food to be absorbed.   Both children and adults can be affected by the disease.  The disease can cause infertility, osteoporosis and cancer.
