Tall Papa Gluten Free Bread Crumbs Review

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you will have noticed that I’ve been mildly obsessed with a new Gluten Free product.  I have used them in a number of meals and even covered a few meals with them.  What is my new obsession?  Tall Papa Gluten Free Bread Crumbs!  When I was contacted by Tall Papa to try their bread crumbs I was very intrigued.  My previous experiences with Gluten Free bread crumbs have not gone well.  Most are either tasteless, gritty or just absorbed into the meal.

They sent me a bag of each flavor: Italian Seasoned Multi-Grain Bread Crumbs, Cajun Spice Bread Crumbs, and Citrus Lime Bread Crumbs.

It was actually very convenient the day they came.  I had already planned to make Pepperoni Pasta Bake and decided to check the mail while the GF pasta cooked.  When I opened the box to find the Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs I knew just what to do with them!  Instead of just covering the top of the casserole with mozzarella cheese I used the bread crumbs.  The result was amazing!  The hubby and I both agreed it was awesome and the bread crumbs definitely took the dish over the top!

Next I topped some mini pizzas with the bread crumbs.

Then I made Quinoa Pizza Treats and used the bread crumbs instead of Italian seasoning.

Then I created this awesome recipe!  Baked Gluten Free Mozzarella Sticks!

With half the bag gone I decided to move to a different flavor.  Next I hit the Citrus Lime bag to make…

Citrus Lime Chicken

What You Need:
1 beaten egg
3-4 chicken breasts
3/4 cup of Tall Papa Citrus Lime Bread Crumbs

How to Make It:
Heat oven to 400.  Grease a shallow casserole dish.  Put the egg in one dish and the bread crumbs in another.  Dip the thawed chicken into the egg, then cover with the bread crumbs. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

This was so good I didn’t even have to dip the chicken in any sauce!  The flavor was very good and there was a nice crust around the chicken.

I haven’t even started on the Cajun Spice bag yet, but I’m looking forward to some buffalo wings!

If you are looking for a GOOD Gluten Free bread crumb mix Tall Papa has some great options.  The Italian Seasoned is definitely my favorite!  I will have to order a bag soon since I’m almost out!

To quote my Gluten eating hubby “That stuff is legit good!”.

Disclaimer: Tall Papa provided the products for me to try.  The photos and opinions are mine.  If I didn’t like the product, I’d tell you šŸ™‚

Although Tall Papa may be great you are still wasting money. Got some old or unliked GF bread. Cube it, dry it in the oven and run through a food processor or blender. Instant FREE crumbs. Or save the crumbs that you get from homemade bread. Again free. Season as you like and the cost is again negligible.

Thanks for the suggestion on how to make my own Bread Crumbs. I’ve never made my own before.
I feel it is worth the money to support good Gluten Free companies who are trying to meet a need in our community. However I do not expect everyone to do the same. I’m sure your bread crumbs are wonderful and free is always a good price!
      Thanks for stopping by!

I am diagnosed with coeliac disease. There are one time I mistakenly eat gluten and I immediately feel the symptoms. It usually last for an hour. However, the effects vary from person to person and depend on how much gluten you’ve eaten. How sensitive you are and how long you have been on a gluten-free diet. Following gluten-free diet is a learning process, not only for you but also for your family and friends.

Tall Papa’s charges $11.00 to ship bread crumbs that cost $9.99.
    Forget that.
